Studies have demonstrated that early exposure to music and opportunities to learn an instrument can support cognitive development, including skills related to mathematical thinking and problem-solving. Fran’s Bands was created to put these findings into action by providing musical instruments to children in elementary schools where resources are limited. By giving children the opportunity to learn, practice, and make music, Fran’s Bands helps open the door to the joy of musical discovery while building confidence and skills that can support learning in the classroom and beyond.
